  • Why people want to dive?

    Wholesome curiosity, love of beauty. And what could be more exciting and mysterious than underwater world? Craving for unknown, confluence with Mother Nature and simply healthy active way of life. However this is not all. The feeling of weightless flight one could get only while diving with SCUBA.
  • How to start diving?

    To make the first step in diving you should visit the nearest NDL diving center or contact NDL Instructor and study as a minimum the NDL Novice Diver course or NDL Diver course at once.    
  • Is it physically hard to be a diver?

    No. Diving is not a sport. You do not need a special callisthenic. While diving you do not need strength or fast reaction. Highly rated is the skill to relax and to spare your strength. The better the man dive, the less he strains himself.     
  • Are there any medical limitations for diving?

    Yes. Diving is limited for the men with hard cordial diseases, pulmonary diseases, epilepsy, chronic alcoholism and narcotism.   
  • Is SCUBA diving dangerous?

    Statistics says that SCUBA diving nearly as safe as the normal swimming.  Of course, there is some potential risk, but accidents in scuba diving are very rare. To avoid any risk underwater one should be trained by a certified NDL Instructor, follow the NDL rules and standards, behave himself underwater very carefully, keep the neutral buoyancy and avoid any contacts with underwater objects.   
  • Are the underwater beings dangerous, e.g. sharks?

    If you were neither touching any one of underwater beings, nor scaring them none of them would attack you. Underwater beings, particularly sharks, are attacking only in case they are in danger.    
  • Starting from which age one could go for SCUBA diving?  

    Starting from 10 years you could take the course Junior Diver NDL or Junior Novice Diver NDL.   
  • How long does the first training course takes?

    Novice Diver NDL course usually takes from 4 to 5 days.
  • Diving is surely an interesting occupation, but could I try it before taking the starting course?

    Yes, you could. We have a special possibility for familiarization dive, called Test - Dive. You have the chance to dive arm in arm with your NDL Instructor. Of course, he will fully control your SCUBA.   
  • How would I breathe inderwater? What is inside the tank, oxigen or some mix?

    There is compressed air in the tank.
  • How long does the air in the tank lasts?

    This depends on the diver's lungs volume, dive depth and diver's skills. For a normal dive that follows all the buoyancy rules for the depth from 10 to 15 meters the air in the tank lasts for 40-50 minutes.
  • Do I need to purchase any special equipment before I start my diving courses?

    It is very comfortable to have your own equipment. However, it is advisable to buy it during the course or after the course completion. All the recommendations on the equipment purchasing you will receive from your NDL Instructor. NDL diving-center would provide you with all necessary equipment to study the courses.
  • What is the maximum depth for SCUBA diving?

    According to NDL norms and regulations maximum depth comes to 40 meters. However, the first learning course is not enough to dive so deep. You have to pass the course of deep diving ( Deep Diver NDL ) or NDL Universal Diver course.
  • What is the maximum depth for SCUBA diving after passing the NDL Diver course?

    18 meters.
  • While snorkeling I felt a strong pressure inside my ears even on 1 meter depth. So, what would happen if I would dive on fifteen?

    To avoid any unpleasant feelings when you are diving there is a special procedure of ears pressure equalization. Your NDL Instructor will show you this skill as well as many others.   
  • I have poor eyesight. Will it impede me while diving?

    Not really. Modern diving masks allow you to replace the normal glass with a one with focal power. Moreover, you could use contact lenses.   
  • I'm pregnant, could I go diving?

    No, it is not advisable to dive during pregnancy.
  • I'm a diver certified by other organization. Can I continue my diving education in NDL?

    You surely can. There is a NDL table of correspondence for different levels. NDL Instructor would organize a check-dive to make sure that your level corresponds the minimum requirement to obtain the certain NDL course.  After it you would continue your diving education within NDL system.   
  • My Instructor proposes me to become a Divemaster. Would I be able to find a job after and what kind of job could it be?  

    Yes. Market demands more and more Divemasters as people wants to be cared by professionals speaking their own language. Diving industry is developing very fast. The quantity of certified divers also grows quickly, so does the demand for the Divemasters. As a Divemaster you will accompany certified divers as an underwater guide, or you can assist the Instructor while he is carrying out some training course.   
  • I'm already an Instructor of different organization. Could I also become an NDL Instructor and what should I do to achieve it?

    Yes you could. You need to contact NDL office via e-mail or by phone and agree the crossover. After it you have to pass the re-certification and sit for theoretical and practical exams according to the NDL standards.   
  • What are the fees for NDL Instructor?

    For year 2006 the fees forms 100USD.
  • What is the price for NDL Instructor course?

    The price depends on the local conditions and is the point to discuss with the NDL Instructor Rank III who is leading the course. Usually the course price varies from 700 to 800 USD.
  • When I'am an NDL Instructor and I get a student certified by other organization could I continue his training within NDL system?

    Surely, you could. Firstly you have to organize a check-dive to make sure that his level corresponds the minimum requirement to obtain the certain NDL course.  After it you may continue his diving education within NDL system. This procedure is described in details in Instructor manual, which you will receive when you start your NDL Instructor course.    
  • I'm an Instructor of different organization and want to pass the crossover to become an NDL Instructor. What advantages does it give to me?

    Unlike others NDL system has lots of accurately developed courses that are highly adapted to real life.  You can easily use your client's database proposing your students new perspectives in diving education by offering new interesting courses that they could obtain.
  • I'm going to obtain NDL Instructor level and I'm exited if NDL amateurish licenses, which I'm going to issue, are accepted worldwide?

    Yes, they are accepted everywhere. Moreover, every dive-center is a commercial organization, which profit by the divers that are enjoying by their services.  For what reason commercial organization should reject the client and at a bottom if fact money. Even if the instructors in this center are working within any other system, in any case they have to check your diving skills - organize check-dive for you. Originally, check-dive has to be organized anyway, even if the diver has the license of the system that is promoted in this particular dive-center.  After the check-dive the diver, which have the license from any certifying organization, is allowed to dive. There is no ground for any kind of denial. No one knows the case when any diving license was rejected.
  • I'm going to obtain NDL Instructor level and I'm worrying if it is real to work as an instructor the whole life? This could become boring. The years will pass; new instructors will come and become my competitors. They would be younger, more energetic and I'll lose.

    It is real. For this we have professional development within NDL system. Firstly, you will get your clients database as a great advantage to them. These clients would love you and, of course, would recommend you to all their friends, so the business would grow up.
    Secondly, you can develop yourself and become an NDL Instructor Rank III to train already the instructors.
    More often instructors are coming to the idea of organizing their own dive-centers. NDL organization would help you in organizing your own business. Getting the right to train the people within NDL system and issue the diving licenses you as a matter of fact are getting the values that will not devaluate unless the diving is alive. So, do not be afraid of competence from the younger. The appearing of new instructors on the market should not scare you - you should use it. Your experience, your craftsmanship will stand up for you as well as your organization - National Dive League.
