Instructor Rank 1 is first NDL Instructor Level.
Any professional diver can become NDL Instructor Rank 1 after
successfully passing of Instructor Training Course.
The candidates, who passed exams of ITC (Instructor Trainer Course)
with the total score below 4.0, will get the rating of Instructor Rank 1 and can teach only Novice Diver Course.
To qualify to enter the NDL Instructor Training Course, the candidate
must:
- Be certified as a NDL Divemaster or have equivalent certification
from another training organization.
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Submit proof of Medic First Aid NDL or qualifying certification
from another training organization within the last 24 months.
- Have at least 100 logged dives.
The NDL Instructor Training Course provides a professional learning
experience in which candidate will learn how to teach diving skills
within the NDL system.
Instructor Training Course
The ITC takes at least 10 days.
The candidates during the ITC get information from Instructor Rank 3
(Instructor Trainer) about:
- History of diving and diving industry
- Philosophy of NDL education
- General rules of diving business
- Role model of instructor
- Psychology of relationship between instructor and student
- Leadership training
- Role of diving assurance
- Government low and diving business
- The role of the system in diving education
- General rules of diving safety and professional control
- NDL Standards
The candidates during the ITC should make 5 academic teaching
presentations, 5 confined water teaching presentations, 4 open water
teaching presentations.
The candidates during the ITC should are able to swim 400 without
scuba, 800 with snorkel and fins, 100 meters inert diver tow.
NDL Examination - IE
The Instructor Examination follows right after ITC. It
takes two days. The first day:
- Diving theory written examination.
- NDL Standards written examination.
- Academic teaching presentations.
- Water teaching presentations.
The second day:
- Professional Buoyancy Diver Course teaching presentation.
- Certification procedures.
Instructor Crossover Course
The NDL Instructor Crossover Course is designed to enable
scuba instructors certified through other certification organizations
to become NDL Instructors.
It takes at least 4 days.
The candidates, who passed exams with the total score below 4.0, will
get the rating of Instructor Rank 1 and can teach only Novice Diver
Course.
The candidates who passed exams with the total score above 4.0 can
conduct all NDL courses from NDL Novice Diver Course to NDL Divemaster
Course and will get the rating of Instructor Rank 2.
